At the start of the year my colleague Corey Pauley and I were discussing how difficult it was to make time for our side projects. It is really easy to have cool software ideas but it is super hard to finish. The spirit is willing but the flesh is often more inclined to watch something on Netflix.
The solution would need to be:
- regularly scheduled
- able to provide some sort of accountability
Several of our other friends and colleagues agreed that this was also something they needed. We decided to setup a weekly meeting and ended up calling it Co-op Complete.
The group meets every Tuesday evening and it is open to the public. Usually there is a brief discussion about what everyone is working on and the rest of the time is spent focused on those projects. It is kind of like study hall. More info: (Meetup Page)

The timing for starting Co-op Complete was actually a pretty good for me as my bandmates were both effectively quitting. So now instead of making music every week I'm making software. For now it is a fun tradeoff.
That said, I’ve written some music related software. It is a windows based Last.Fm scrobbler for the Plex Media server. This is a pretty niche piece of software but it was something that I personally wanted to use - so that's always a good place to start.
